Consumer’s concern about the environment and ecology nowadays is growing, this is why they demand biodegradable degreasers and other products that are not harmful to the environment and leave the least possible waste.
At EUROSANEX we offer indeed biodegradable degreasers. Actually, all of our products are biodegradable as the Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 of the European Parliament and of the council states this is the way it has to be.
But when is a cleaner product considered biodegradable? The legislation states that the biodegradability “is the capacity of biodegradability of surfactants” and that biodegradation “is the molecular degradation of surfactant agent, resulting in a complex action of living organisms in the environment”. Therefore, components of the cleaning agents must be able to be degraded by living organisms in nature.
European legislation establishes that even the biodegradability goal of the products is 60% mineralization (“final biodegradation” into carbon dioxide, water and mineral salts) within 28 days “. Therefore, the products, after 28 days in nature, must have turned into 60% carbon dioxide water and mineral salts.
Thus, biodegradable degreasers and all EUROSANEX products that are not certified with the prestigious label ECOLABEL are also environmentally friendly because they are biodegradable and some of them may even be certified with this label, if they were presented to the authorities.
Moreover, they have an additional benefit: they are highly concentrated. Therefore, it is not necessary to use a lot of quantity to remove dirt, with a small dose it’s enough. Thus, we save money, but also a lot of water and time.
Among all EUROSANEX products without Ecolabel stands out for its respect for the environment, the ECO-professional line, especially general cleaners, for its great versatility as a multipurpose product as well as our manual dishwasher with an excellent performance.
In addition, products such as our low alkalinity degreaser KENEX BS-200, or our bathroom cleaner DEFORT BAÑOS
, could be considered organic (and even get ECOLABEL with minor modifications in the container, etc.) due to its composition, its performance and high cleaning power with very small doses.
